How to Restring Electric Guitars

Here’s how to restring electric guitar quickly and easily and keep your strings in tune.

Electric guitars are strung in a similar manner as acoustic guitars, but you thread the ball end through a metal bridge piece. Some guitars, such as the Fender Telecaster and Stratocaster, allow the strings to pass through the bridge saddle all the way through the body

Other guitars, such as the Les Paul, have tailpieces on the top of the guitar where the string starts. Others have a moveable bridge where the pitch of the strings can be lowered by depressing a moveable arm, known as a tremolo bar.
